Tinsukia Medicine Retailers’ Association (TMRA) is a govt. registered association formed with the aim of working toward safeguarding the interest of the medicine retailers and promoting their all round development.

Its objective, in short, is to serve as a platform wherein the medicine retailers can meet as equals and exchange their trade knowledge with a view to resolve their common or mutual or individual problems by collective endeavour.

It aims to make all medicine retailers aware of their rights and responsibilities; to cultivate sense of dignity, unity, equality and brotherhood so that they can stand united during any emergency.

The Association is formed as an independent entity which in future, if situation so demands, may take or give affiliation to another association. Starting from Tinsukia it may expand to entre district and outside in due course of time.

Unity is strength. We all started our journey to unite all medicine retailers of Tinsukia so that we have an association of persons of same status and experience—so that we have a platform where everyone understands each other’s dreams & aspirations and the problems & shortcomings to realise them.

I am thankful that all of our valued members have supported the journey and today we have come to this position, with more and more members adding up every year. We have successfully solved various problems that our members have faced from time to time and stood united firmly at any time of emergency. Today we are a government registered association, ready to extend to other places of the district and to join hands with other significant drug associations of the entire state.

I am thankful to all our Executive Committee and General Members for support and hopeful that the same will continue in future too, to make the association all successful.

It is said that birds of the same feather flock together and we, medicine retailers, are the smallest birds in the pharma industry/business hierarchy. Globalisation and cut-throat competition have compelled both pharma companies and business system to take harsh policies, and we become ultimate victims of their exploitation and unethical practices. The weaker is always in risk of domination by the stronger if the weaker don’t stand strong themselves.

Realising this, we all medicine retailers formed this association to safeguard our existence and business interest. The objective is also to culture a sense of dignity, responsibility and fellow-feeling among members. We believe in action rather than in mere show and we have successfully stood to our objectives in time of emergency.

Support and co-operation received from the Executive Committee and General Members so far in the journey has been commendable and I hope this will continue in future to make the association stand to all its objectives and dreams.
